  • About Us

    About LAA
LAA serves many types of students - Musicians, beginning sound people, audio technicians in contracting firms, worship leaders, k-12 and university teachers, you name it. No matter their experience, background, or where they work, one commonality exists:

Our students strive to create incredible live audio experiences for their audiences.

Our students achieve this through the relentless pursuit of technical precision and artistic excellence.
    Mixing
    Why LAA?
Wonder why your last training still left you scratching your head when out on the job? You were experiencing a learning gap.

Most training dwells in knowledge and comprehension - memorization of facts. To thrive mixing a band or troubleshooting a system, you need to think at higher levels - much higher.

To be successful, you need to be able to analyze troubles, synthesize a solution, and evaluate the solution for effectiveness.
    Class
LAA teaching methods are based in the time-proven thinking structure of Benjamin Bloom's Taxonomy for Thinking. We take the type of information you would get from a book, video, or "this knob does that" type of training (knowledge and comprehension levels) and elevate it four thinking levels higher. This is right where you need to be!

    LAA courses give you:

    • A solid and organized base of knowledge and comprehension with absolute facts and information
    • Personalized practice applying your newly acquired knowledge to your own daily audio tasks and a method to analyze their effectiveness
    • Plenty of practice at the highest levels of synthesis and evaluation using situations you encounter in your every-day audio work
